The Cape Town South Africa Temple was announced on April 4, 2021, by President Russell M. Nelson as the third temple in the country. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Saturday, 25 October 2025. Plans include a single-story temple of approximately 890 square meters, with accompanying patron housing and arrival facilities.
